From 7 to 11 June 2015 I was in Malta and Sicily for the launch of MOMPA, the Mediterranean Observatory on Migration Protection and Asylum. Created in response to the increasing flows of migrants and asylum seekers and record levels of deaths across the Mediterranean, MOMPA is a new organisation based in Malta that seeks to inform and develop policy, recommendations, and enhance cooperation in the areas of migration and asylum in the Mediterranean and the European Union.
