Seven years after Polish accession to the EU

‘New academic and trade union perspectives on Polish migration and foreign workers in the UK’, 25 November 2011, Embassy of the Republic of Poland (London)

Seven years after the EU enlargement the debates over the impact of migration from Poland on British social and cultural landscape are still ranging on. This conference aims to provide a forum for debate on the subject of Poles in the UK.
The event will include the presentation of the latest issue of Studia-Migracyjne Przegląd Polonijny, an academic journal published by the Polish Academy of Sciences. The Special Issue edited by Dr. Michal P. Garapich from University of Roehampton is devoted entirely to social, cultural and economic aspects of migratory flows between Poland and the UK. The issue includes a paper by Alessio D’Angelo and Louise Ryan on ‘Polish Parents and Children in Schools’.

The conference is free but places are limited. For further information and to book a place: magdalena.kozak@msz.gov.pl (registration closes on Tuesday, 22nd November)
