This event is for housing practitioners interested in keeping up to date with recent developments in Housing Law. A range of areas will be covered, including: Migrant Communities and access to housing, legal implications of the Localism Bill 2010 and recent case law in housing generally.

  Delegates are invited to discuss issues around cases known to them. As the Localism Bill is due to be passed into law later this Autumn, this will be a first opportunity to debate the legal implications of the new Act for housing.Aims of the Day:

  • To understand the basis of EU and UK Law on migration and housing and to focus on recent developments
  • To note the latest developments in the Localism Bill 2010 and consider the implications for the housing sector
  • To keep up to date with recent developments in housing case law – with a focus on homelessness, possession hearings, succession, anti-social behaviour, private sector housing and Tenancy Deposit Schemes
